The moment it was released a few years ago, the Kia EV6 was a fantastic electric car. With its recent facelift, the question arises: is it even better? In this Kia EV6 review, we’ll delve into all the changes and improvements, from styling to tech upgrades.
The EV6 has been updated to align more closely with the designs of the EV9, EV3, and EV5. The front features a new headlight design, and on GT Line and GT Line S models, a light bar adds a modern touch. These models also come equipped with adaptive LED lights as standard. The front end has been slightly enlarged to give a more aggressive look.
At the rear, the gloss black panel now has sharper edges, enhancing its sporty appearance. While the changes aren’t drastic, they contribute to a more refined overall look. The dimensions of the EV6 remain unchanged, making it a substantial electric SUV that competes with models like the Skoda Enyaq, Tesla Model Y, and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
One of the most significant updates in this Kia EV6 review is the battery upgrade. The previous 77.4 kWh battery has been replaced with a new 84 kWh battery, which, despite being larger, is lighter. This enhancement boosts the official range from 328 miles to 361 miles for the rear-wheel-drive version. The all-wheel-drive variant sees its range change from 300 miles to 324 miles.

The EV6 is available in three trim levels: the entry-level Air, GT Line, and GT Line S. Even the base model comes well-equipped with features like climate control, heated seats, and adaptive cruise control. The GT Line adds sportier aesthetics and additional comfort features.
Kia offers an impressive seven-year warranty, which surpasses most competitors. The pricing remains competitive, especially considering the EV6’s large battery and impressive range.
On the road, the EV6 drives similarly to its predecessor. It’s sporty with good steering and body control, but the ride can be firm over rough surfaces. The rear-wheel-drive model is recommended for its longer range and cost-effectiveness, while the all-wheel-drive version offers quicker acceleration but a shorter range.
